Sadly Tolkiens sons and grandkids had enough of Peter Jacksons crap (he did mess around a little too much with The Hobbit) and so their reluctance to see more done with Tolkiens work is understandable.

That said a TV show would be a great idea if headed by the right person.

Apparently the Tolkien foundation won't ever allow Silmarillion to be made into a movie, but did you hear about the LOTR TV show that's in the making supposedly? I can't wait.
